How to Improve Email Deliverability

Email deliverability is the ability of your emails to reach recipients'' inboxes (rather than spam folders). Here are the most impactful steps you can take.

1. Authenticate Your Domain

Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for your sending domain. Go to Settings → Domains for step-by-step DNS instructions. Domain authentication is the single most impactful deliverability improvement you can make.

2. Warm Up Your IP

If you''re starting fresh or increasing volume significantly, use MisarMail''s built-in Warmup tool (Analytics → Warmup) to gradually ramp up sending. Never jump from 0 to 50,000 emails in a day.

3. Maintain List Hygiene

  • Remove hard bounces immediately (MisarMail does this automatically).
  • Suppress contacts who haven''t engaged in 6+ months.
  • Never buy or rent email lists — they''re full of spam traps.
  • Use double opt-in for new subscribers whenever possible.

4. Monitor Your Reputation

Check the Provider Health section in Analytics to see the status and deliverability score for each SMTP pool. Watch your bounce rate (keep below 2%) and complaint rate (keep below 0.1%).

5. Improve Engagement

High engagement signals to mailbox providers that your emails are wanted. Send only to engaged subscribers, segment your list to target relevant content, and use compelling subject lines to improve open rates.
