What is SPF (Sender Policy Framework)?

Quick Answer

A DNS record that specifies which mail servers are authorized to send email on behalf of your domain.

SPF is a TXT record published in your domain's DNS. It lists authorized IP addresses and servers that can send email for your domain. Receiving servers check SPF to verify the sender's legitimacy. SPF records have a 10-lookup limit — exceeding it causes authentication failures. MisarMail provides SPF record templates for easy setup.
